Kvartal 95 started shooting the long-awaited Servant of the People 2, following the success of the first part that became a TV rating champ of the season. This time, in addition to the second season of the series that will be shown on 1+1 channel, the feature film will be released in the cinemas of the country next year. This will be the ninth full-length movie produced by Kvartal 95.
The production period is expected to last approximately two and a half months and will take place in five cities of Ukraine.
The first day of shooting started at the Kiev Central Railway station. In the first episode the President - Vasil Goloborodko - starts his working tour around the country and he travels not in a private jet but an ordinary train.
According to the scenario during the first scene the President is followed by a crowd of journalists with microphones and cameras on his way to the train. Real Ukrainian journalists were invited to participate in the filming. They had a unique opportunity to visit the set not only behind the scenes, but also play themselves - representatives of the Ukrainian mass media.
Vladimir Zelenskiy, co-founder and creative producer of Kvartal 95 and actor playing the President says: “Servant of the People continues because it is interesting for us and our audience. And not only in Ukraine. At all times and in all countries people want to see honest and decent people as the Head of the state. World history knows such examples. Charles de Gaulle, Mahatma Gandhi were real leaders - respected and influential. Servant of the People is the embodiment of faith and hope of millions of people that decent people in high offices are possible and corruption can be defeated. And certainly we need to deal with it. Currently we are doing it using the tools that are available to us. So far in the cinema J”.
