Romantic comedy ‘8 Best Dates’ during the first long weekend in cinema theaters in Ukraine collected 22 570 590 UAH. During the first days of release (March 3-8) 336 308 people on more than 200 screens in 141 cinemas in total watched the movie. This is an absolute record for the entire history among Ukrainian film production and distribution. During the first long weekend more people watched 8 Best Dates than any other Ukrainian film during the entire rental period. The closest competitors - the films "Nezlamna" (“Battle for Sevastopol”) and “Povodyr” ("Wrangler") - for the first weekend collected 4 500 000 UAH (about 100 000 people) and 4 320 000 UAH (about 95 000 spectators), respectively. Over the entire period these films were watched by 276 373 and 358 654 viewers respectively. ‘8 Best Dates’ is the eighth feature-length film produced by Kvartal 95. The last two releases, ‘Love in the Big City 3’ and ‘8 New Dates’, which were in the cinemas from 26 December 2013 and 25 December 2014 respectively, during the first weekend collected 14,463,822 UAH. (322,885 viewers) and 16,179,923 UAH. (309,467 viewers). Among the films of Ukrainian production full-length movies produced by Kvartal 95 continue to be the champions of the domestic box office, leaving its competitors far behind. Moreover, ‘8 Best Dates’ compete successfully with the world's blockbusters, which were shown in Ukraine in 2015-2016. They come second only to ‘Star Wars. Awakening’, leaving behind ’50 Shades of Grey’, ‘Terminator. Genesis’, ‘Forsage 7’. ‘8 Best Dates’ is a romantic comedy for the whole family.
